Psalm 139 Amplified Bible (AMP)
1 O Lord, you have searched me [thoroughly] and have known me.
2 You know my downsitting and my uprising; You understand my thought afar off.
3 You sift and search out my path and my lying down, and You are acquainted with all my ways.
4 For there is not a word in my tongue [still unuttered], but, behold, O Lord, You know it altogether.
5 You have beset me and shut me in—behind and before, and You have laid Your hand upon me.
6 Your [infinite] knowledge is too wonderful for me; it is high above me, I cannot reach it.
Isn’t it amazing to know that as you are seated there thinking that you are in deep thought; somebody already knew your thoughts before you began to think about them? Deep! As you are trying to keep and maintain composure and be a lady or a gentleman, someone already knows how hard you try? Trying to play hard and put on a brave face, he already knows your vulnerable side? That in whatever way we try to fool people with our outside cover, he knows us deep down? Mmmh, that’s how serious this business is.
Almost everyone on planet earth wants to be known. People crave attention and recognition. They want people to recognize that they exist. That is why when they get to a place and they do not get recognition, they feel out of place. They even say; ‘this place is boring.’ But the moment they are shown some interest, they begin to feel important, comfortable and at ease. Some people are like that. They just feed on attention, crying to be known by people in highest seats of authority in government, in organizations and firms, when the one seated on the highest throne above all of them knows them better; the one who matters the most.
But isn’t it beautiful to know that God the creator of heaven and earth knows you better than anyone else. Infact, I could care less about who thinks they know me better. Have you ever met a person who thinks they know you better than you know yourself? Well, that’s another topic for another day, but as long as I know the truth that nobody could ever know me as deep as the father knows me, I am alright. The truth is the people we live with, those that surround us and we interact with daily, they only know what we give them, not our totality.
Let me encourage you today that know in your heart of hearts that you are known and were known before you were formed in your mother’s womb. This is valuable information that ought to be used to our advantage. I’d rather tell my issues to the one who knows me better than a stranger because after all I am and will always be His child.
